학교 소개

런던 중심가에 위치하여 작지만 내실있는 중간 가격의 학교이다. 탄탄한 수업 커리큘럼과 활발한 학급 분위기로 수업에 적극적으로 참여할수 있게 유도한다. 소규모로 운영어 학생들과 교사들의 관계가 좋고 활기찬 분위기로 관리되고 있는 학교이다.
영국의 모든 학교 중에서 유일하게 영국영어협회 Language Travel Megazine 최우수 학교와 영국문화원의 최우수 혁신학교 수상을 하였다.

특징

런던 중심가의 옥스포드 서커스역에서 약 300 미터 떨어져 있는 아담한 학교이다. 런던 시내 중심에 있어 최신식 시설을 갖춘 학교에 비해서 시설 및 외관적인 부분은 부족한 편이지만 활발한 분위기의 수업 분위기가 좋은 학교이다.
근처에 많은 상점이 즐비해 있어 생활환경이 편리하며 학교가 많은 상점과 제휴가 되어 있다.
다양한 시험반 과정과 대학준비과정이 개설되어 있고 일반영어와 비즈니스 과정이 결합되어 단기간 영어공부를 하러 오는 직장인에게 좋은 과정도 개설되어 있다.
다양한 국적의 학생들을 대상으로 하는 런던인 만큼 영어를 포함하여 11개국어를 가르치는 실력있는 학교이다.

장단점

주변에 상점들과 제휴를 맺어 UIC 학생들에게 20~30% 할인혜택을 받을수 있도록 하고 있다. 런던 중심가의 건물 2~4층을 사용하며 좁은 복도와 강의실이 답답하게 느껴질 수 있지만 주변의 상점을 저렴하게 이용할수 있는 혜택이 있다.
친절하고 다정다감한 스텝과 교사들이 늘 반겨주는 화목한 분위기가 좋아 학교에 애착을 갖도록 만들어준다.

학교위치

교통이 편리한 런던 중심지인 Regent Street에 위치하며 가까운 곳에 웨스트민서터 대학이 자리하고 있다.
Oxford Circus 역에서 도보로 5분 거리에 있고 주변에 각종 상점들이 즐비해 있어 먹을거리가 풍성하며 관광하기에도 좋은 위치이다.

United International College는 영국 문화원 인증과 영국 학교협회인 ARELS(English in UK)의 인증을 받았습니다. 학교 건물은 3층으로 되어 있으며 전체 150명을 수용할 수 있습니다. 학교의 규모가 크지는 않지만 CD롬 컴퓨터, TV 등의 어학 장비들을 새로 구입하여 다양한 대화 소재와 교육용 자료 등을 제공하고 있습니다.

Having graduated from university with a degree in Linguistics, I spent a couple of years in the wilderness, working in the financial sector. After taking a break to travel the world for a year, I had an epiphany: to find a job in which I could utilise my love of the English language, and simultaneously meet interesting people of different cultures and nationalities from all around the globe. At UIC, I have found an environment in which I can enjoy helping my students achieve their various goals and provide them with the tools to communicate accurately and effectively in a practical way. I'm Stephanie and I am the social program organiser at UIC. I've always been interested in languages and travelling. When I came to London to start University I fell in love with the city to the point that I did not want to leave. In fact I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know this city. There is so much to do and see - it's never boring! I am always able to make friends with people from all over the world, to work in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where people learn and exchange ideas, and to do it all in the most cosmopolitan city in the world. The best things about working at UIC are the people and the location. Everyone is very friendly here: our students enjoy learning and our teachers love their work. The school is so close to the best shopping area in London, so if you want to shop after your classes, you'll be very happy at UIC!
